What to look for in a Home Based Business

When choosing a home based business, it is imperative that it is something that you totally believe in as well as meeting your requirements as far as investing your money into your own business is concerned.  You have to believe that this business is the right one for you.

Having a home based business is becoming more and more attractive as more and more companies are reducing staff and putting more demands on the staff that remain.  A viable alternative to working 2 jobs but getting paid for 1 is having a home based business.

There are many advantages both personal and financial to having a home based business.  Especially for women, probably the most important advantage is not having to rush the children to daycare or a baby sitter before school begins before heading off on the daily commute to work. The last minute problems of having a sick child that you cannot take to daycare and the mad scrambling to find someone to take care of the child is very stressful.  Most employers are not overly sympathetic when a parent calls in to say they won’t be in to work because of a sick child.

Helping Concussion with Amega™ Global Products

Amega™ Global Products Help Concussion

My friend H who uses the Amega™ Global AMWand to keep her blood pressure down, called me yesterday morning to tell me that her husband had fallen on the ice skating and has a nasty concussion.

She asked me if I would be willing to go and see W last evening to see if the AMWand would help to relieve the pain he has been experiencing.  She also wanted to refresh her memory on using the AMWand.

When I arrived, W told me that his pain level was between 6 and 7 and that it felt like someone was hammering on his head; especially across his forehead, jaw area and the band around his head starting from his forehead.  He had a gash where he had fallen and that is the area of the concussion.  W’s eyes were not glazed over but they weren’t clear at all ~ no sparkle to them at all.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!

In our Christian world, as we celebrate Christmas Eve and the birth of Jesus, it is a good time of the year to reflect on the religious beliefs of all people around the globe and to continue to become more tolerant of their beliefs and traditions.

In Canada and many other countries, leading up to Christmas we have Advent Wreaths with 5 candles representing Hope, Love, Joy and Peace with the white one in the middle being the Christ candle.

It is also customary to celebrate Christmas with a decorated tree and lights in our windows and outside. 

There are many Christians to whom this would seem to be a very strange way of doing it especially in countries that are dry and hot and don’t have the abundance of trees that we have.

In our home, we have moved away from having a real Christmas tree and have an artificial tree that we keep from year to year.  It is easier and it saves on the number of trees that are cut each November.

One of the things that I really appreciate and enjoy is that we have a park very near our home.  It is a wonderful park that sits between two lakes and has many trails throughout the acres.  Each Christmas, somebody decorates one of the small fir trees on one of the trails. 

It is beautiful just sitting there done up in its Christmas trimmings amidst all the trees, trails and usually snow.  The birds are flying around and land on the branches.  Chickadees and Nuthatches will land on your hand to eat sunflower seeds ~ it is a very heartwarming experience and you feel that you are out in the woods somewhere; not in the city at all.

We will take a walk over the next few days to see this wonderful little Christmas tree.

What do You Want for Christmas?

Christmas Wish List ~ Providing Hope!

As I was sitting here this morning thinking I didn’t need a rotten cold for Christmas, it hit me like a lightening bolt that I am so fortunate, not to have the cold, but to have Hope that it will not only go away but knowing I have a warm home, people who love me, food, freedom and many other of God’s gifts that we take for granted every day.

Throughout the world, there are people oppressed, starving, deathly ill without a chance of recovery, no medications to ease the pain, and worst of all, No Hope ~ No Hope that anyone will care that they didn’t make it through the night or day, No Hope that someone will be there to take care of their children when they are gone and No Hope that their children will not contract what they have and die as well or die of starvation.

It is beyond my understanding, try as I might, what it must be like to wake up in the morning just realizing that you are alive another day but Without Hope that today will be any better than yesterday and No Hope that you may even be alive tomorrow.  This is reality to too many of our brothers and sisters world wide and, as human beings with so-called intelligence; it defies logic why this Hopelessness cannot be alleviated one person or village at a time.

We do not even have to leave our own city let alone country to encounter people who just survive each day and Hope is not in their vocabulary.

Sharing My Struggle with Fibromyalgia

My Coping Strategies for Fibromyalgia

I feel strongly that each person has to learn what is best for them in coping with Fibromyalgia.  Different people have different struggles with the symptoms and the severity of them.

While I find that the pain associated with my Fibromyalgia is a definite problem, it is truly the brain fog that affects my life in the most dramatic of ways.  When I am unable to focus properly or forget things, it is so annoying that sometimes I become angry and that only serves to increase the effect of the brain fog.

I am a very independent person and, when I am unable to walk out the door and get in the car and drive where I want to go, it is frustrating. 

Because of the Fibromyalgia, often if I go with someone else, I still don’t accomplish what I wanted to do as my brain isn’t functioning the way it should so it is hard to make decisions. 

It is like my life is put on hold because I am unable to do things I planned on doing so I find that it takes more time to accomplish things.  What I normally would have done in a day I find that it can be a day or two before I am able to complete them. 

When there are deadlines on what I want to do, such as a practice for our singing group, I have to cancel and then catch up later.  In this way, I feel that Fibromyalgia robs me of the choice to do what I have to do or want to do and the brain fog decides when it will be done; it’s no longer just my choice.
